Kit Design
Rangers Football Club is a Scottish professional football club based in Glasgow's Govan district, which plays in the Scottish Premiership. Although not its official name, it is often referred to as Glasgow Rangers. The fourth-oldest football club in Scotland, Rangers was founded by four teenage boys as they walked through West End Park (now Kelvingrove Park) March 1872 where they discussed forming a football club. Rangers are the most successful club in Europe winning 118 trophies altogether.
Rangers Football Club will celebrate their 150th anniversary of the club in 2022, and I designed a new football kit to celebrate the clubs' history. My design also displays Rangers' aim to embark on a radical digital transformation that will support global growth and fan ambitions.
They recently had a new brand identity created, which enhanced the website, club badge, and social media platforms. I used this identity to create my kits and incorporated past rangers kits. My main inspiration was from one of the original Rangers kits. This used the blue star badge, which I applied to create repeated patterns.
